Oh boy, I have some exciting news! Kmart is going to be having a super double coupon week from July 4 to July 10! And the Logan store is participating! That means they'll double all coupons up to $2. So a $0.50 coupon becomes worth $1.00, a $0.75 coupon becomes worth $1.50, and (hold on to your hats!), a $2.00 coupon becomes worth $4.00! So you can get $4.00 off of one product!

They have the best burgers I've had in a long time. I don't know what took us so long to eat there. I believe Cache Valley butter and cheese slices are currently just under $2 at Walmart. There is $0.55 coupon found in the 5/23/10 SmartSource insert, so just $1.45 after coupon. Butter freezes really well, too, so you can stock up on it. I'm not crazy about cheese after it's been frozen, unless it's shredded cheese, but you can freeze cheese, too.

Smith's: PF Goldfish just $0.65!

Smith's has Pepperidge Farm Goldfish on sale this week for just $1.00, and coupons.com has just come out with a coupon for $0.35 off. That means just $0.65 for a bag of Goldfish crackers!

Pepperidge Farm has come out with a bunch of different flavors and varieties of Goldfish, too. my favorite is this Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar. There's also Slammin' Sour Cream, Cinnamon, S'mores, and many more flavors.

Keep in mind that the best way to print coupons from coupons.com is generally by picking 3 coupons. This is because it prints 3 coupons to a page, so you get the most out of one sheet of paper that way. So pick a couple other coupons you think you might use, too. My favorites are $3/1 off Huggies and $1.50 off Little Swimmers.

Also remember that you can generally print each coupon twice.

Free Fishing!

After your kids get their haircuts at Cookie Cutters on June 5, then take them fishing! Saturday, June 5 is Free Fishing Day in Utah!

In conjunction with this, the Bear River Celebration and Free Fishing Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Skylar's Pond.

The pond is in Willow Park, 419 W. 700 S.

People of all ages can enjoy free fishing at the pond. Fishing equipment will be available to check out and use. Volunteers will also be available to help first-time anglers fish.

Special interactive activity booths will also be available for those ages 4 to 18 years old. The first 250 youths who visit the booths and complete their "passport to fun" will receive a free t-shirt. The interactive booths will give young people a chance to discover the joys of fishing and learn the importance of good water quality. Youths can tie their own wooly bugger, experience how rivers and streams are formed, explore the life cycles of fish, go "buggy over bugs," make fish prints, learn to cast a fishing lure and much more.

Cinefour Theaters: 10 Movies for $5!

Hip2Save is having a fun "YOU in Bloom" exercise this month to try to help us coupon extremists get a more rounded life. One of the ideas was to have 30 meals that you know your family likes, and make a recipe book/box with those meals. The idea is that then you can buy the ingredients on those recipes when they're at their rock bottom prices, and you know you'll use them.

Anyway, Messy Vegetarian Couch has some very cute recipe card templates you can download, making revamping my recipe boxes/books a very fun idea! I can't wait to clean out my cupboard of coupon books that I'm keeping just because of a couple recipes I like.

FREE Spring Campfire at American West Heritage Center!

Looking for something fun and FREE to do on Friday, May 21st? Check out the FREE Spring Campfire at the American West Heritage Center!

The American West Heritage Center always pulls their events off so well, this one is sure to be a blast! From 5 pm to 9:30 pm, this is the grand opening of their new Camp Rendezvous, a place for groups to camp and have fun. There will be marshmallow roasting competitions, songs, storytelling, games, and other fun activities.

For "a low cost" (the website doesn't say how much), there will a yummy smoky rib dinner!

Make sure you check their website for update. If there is rain, some of the activities may be canceled.

This sounds like so much fun! I only wish I didn't already have plans so I could attend. If you go, please leave a comment letting us know how much fun it is! Smith's Marketplace: Why I shop there and some awesome deals there this week, including cereal!

Prior to couponing, Smith's Marketplace was probably the last place in town I would have gone for my grocery shopping. However, now I go there ALL the time for several reasons!

1. They have FREE child care for 1 hour while you shop! This is for children at least age 2 (I'm not sure if there's an upper age limit). The "teacher" gives them an activity to do, if they want to, or they can play with toys or watch a movie. They have a fairly secure system of checking the children in an out, and make them use hand sanitizer before they can enter the play area. No adults are allowed in the play area, so you have to make sure your children will go in by themselves; you can't go in with them then leave once they're comfortable. Children must also go to the bathroom before entering the play area, since they can't leave till you come to get them. Also, and this is a big one for my 2-year-old, no pacifiers or bottles or food or drinks of any kind.

2. Smith's Marketplace is a great place for 1-stop shopping. You can go there to get your gardening supplies, shoes, dresses, toys, car care supplies, storage totes, bath towels, groceries, and more! Check out some of this weeks deals!

FREE Story Time!

I discovered one of Cache Valley's best kept secrets last week: the FREE Story Time at the American West Heritage Center in Wellesville! I've been discouraged by the Logan Public Libraries Story Time because you have to sign your children up for it, and it's only for children over 3. My youngest would get really bored as we waited for my other daughter to get out of story time. Plus, I couldn't go in to story time with her, it's only for the story tellers and the children. (Note: Summer time is different; you can take children of all ages, and you can go in with them and you don't have to sign up.) So I decided to try out the Story Time at the AMHC and it was AMAZING! I was very impressed, and highly encourage you to make the beautiful drive over there to enjoy it!

Story Time at the AWHC takes place every Wednesday morning at 10:30. Preschool kids and their families are welcome. Last week, we read 2 stories, played games, ate popcorn, and made a cute flower craft. There is no admission fee for Story Time. It lasted about 30 minutes.

The American West Heritage Center is located at 4025 S. Hwy 89-91.

OH-MY-GOSH. I just tasted the most wonderful slice of cheese I've ever had.

Borden currently has a pdf coupon available on their website for $1/1 of their Singles Sensations, and it doesn't expire until 7/31/10. They're only $1.25 at Walmart right now, so that makes them just $0.25 for an 8 oz package of sliced and individually wrapped cheese.

I tried a slice of the Applewood Bacon Cheddar for a snack, and ended up eating 5 slices. It was that yummy!

This is probably a cheese I will end up paying full price for after the coupon expires. Now that's sayin' somethin'!

Circus Gatti at the Fairgrounds!

The circus is coming! Well, it's here, actually! There were already 2 performances today, and there will be 2 more tomorrow at 4:15 pm and 7:30 pm at the Cache County Fairgrounds. Walgreens, the McDonalds in Hyrum, and I'm assuming other places around town have coupons for $2 off adult tickets and FREE for kids 12 and under.

To get the $2 off adult tickets, place your order here, and enter coupon code 2290 at checkout. Tickets are regularly $22 for adults and $10 for children, so still pretty expensive, IMO. This make it $20 for an adult ticket.

To get the FREE entrance for children 12 and under, take your coupon to the gate when you go to the performance.

Grocery Smarts' printable shopping lists are up! If you're going to do only one thing to help slash your grocery budget, this is it. Just by using these lists and buying only 4 and 5 star items, you'll save 50%!

Never used Grocery Smarts' printable shopping lists? Here's how:

To view the printable shopping lists, go here.
On the right hand side it says "Enter a PASSPORT." Enter g84rcm and click "submit".
Then select your store in the drop down menu on the center of your screen.
Now you should see a list of the current sales at your store, already matched up with coupons! The coupons are listed in the column titled "Coupon Index."
To read the coupons listed, the coupon is described by what product it is for, the value of the coupon and how many you have to buy. The date in parentheses is the date the coupon expires. Following that, there is a description such as SS-3/28, which means it came from the March 28 Smart Source insert in the Sunday Paper. RP stands for Red Plum, and PG stands for Proctor & Gamble. Note: Our RedPlum comes on Tuesday, but it is still dated for the following Sunday.
If a coupon is printable, there will be a link to where you need to go to print it.
Notice the red or black stars on the left hand side of the table? Four or five red stars mean that's a great price, and if your family uses that item, you should stock up!
You can shrink these printable lists to include only 4 and 5 star items by clicking on the "start" button at the top right of the screen. Then click the single red star on top right hand corner of the table. Now click "shrink" on the top right of the screen again. Now you have just the items that are really good prices this week. You can print your list from here, if you'd like.
Or, before you shrink your list, you can also highlight just the items you need to get that week. The click "shrink" and you'll have just the items you need.

Pretty easy! However, this list doesn't include EVERY coupon out there, either regular coupons or printable coupons. It only includes newspaper insert coupons and coupons from the Grocery Smarts coupon database. So you still want to know what other coupons you have so you can compare them with the sale prices, and have a price point in mind of what you're willing to spend on certain items.

Printable Shopping Lists & Grocery Shopping This Week: Smiths, Maceys, and More

As I look over Pinching Your Pennies printable shopping lists for Smiths, Maceys, and Walmart (the three stores I frequent for groceries), I don't think I'll make a trip to any of those stores this week. There's nothing that's an impressive enough price to me, and frankly, I need a break! That means with the exception of a diaper run to Walgreens tonight, I'm done shopping for the week!

Never used Pinching Your Pennies' printable shopping lists? Here's how:

To view the printable shopping lists, go here.
On the right hand side it says "Enter a PASSPORT." Enter g84rcm and click "submit".
Then select your store in the drop down menu on the center of your screen.
Now you should see a list of the current sales at your store, already matched up with coupons! The coupons are listed in the column titled "Coupon Index."
To read the coupons listed, the coupon is described by what product it is for, the value of the coupon and how many you have to buy. The date in parentheses is the date the coupon expires. Following that, there is a description such as SS-3/28, which means it came from the March 28 Smart Source insert in the Sunday Paper. RP stands for Red Plum, and PG stands for Proctor & Gamble. Note: Our RedPlum comes on Tuesday, but it is still dated for the following Sunday.
If a coupon is printable, there will be a link to where you need to go to print it.
Notice the red or black stars on the left hand side of the table? Four or five red stars mean that's a great price, and if your family uses that item, you should stock up!
You can shrink these printable lists to include only 4 and 5 star items by clicking on the "start" button at the top right of the screen. Then click the single red star on top right hand corner of the table. Now click "shrink" on the top right of the screen again. Now you have just the items that are really good prices this week. You can print your list from here, if you'd like.
Or, before you shrink your list, you can also highlight just the items you need to get that week. The click "shrink" and you'll have just the items you need.

So I have a potential partner for the blog! We'll see how it works out. I still doubt we'll be posting EVERY deal and EVERY coupon like I've been doing. Like I said, it's already out there, and I don't feel it's important for me to duplicate other blogs. The only added benefit I was providing was allowing you to just come to one place, so you didn't have to search all these other blogs.

So where should you go to find the deals? Here are my 4 favorite blogs:

Hip2Save - This is my all time favorite. The blogger, Collin, is my hero. She's in North Carolina, so the deals vary slightly from what is available to us. I read this blog several times a day.

Utah Deal Diva - IMO, this is the go-to blog for Utah. She posts great deals about Smiths and other events going on.

Utah Shopping Secrets/Pinching Your Pennies - I love their printable shopping lists. VERY easy to use, and great for a beginning couponer.

The Krazy Coupon Lady - The bloggers are 2 ladies from Idaho and California, but they do get a few things the other 3 blogs miss. I really like their catalina section.

If you're really into finding deals, you can also checkout Buxr for nation-wide deals. Two website for local deals are SumSay (just launched!) and City Deals (search by your zip code).

Dilemma

So I have a DILEMMA. I enjoy writing this blog and sharing savings, but it doesn't seem like I have a high readership. I haven't posted since Friday, because I've been busy with my family, and now that the weather is so nice outside, I don't think I'll be spending much time on the computer. I confess, I've felt a bit of burn out, and something has to give. Plus, much of what I post on the blog is a duplicate of information found elsewhere in the blogosphere.

So for now, unless I get several comments pleading me to do otherwise, I'll be postponing writing this blog until I have a better idea of where I want it to go, or until someone offers to share the burdern of deal finding with me. Instead I'll be focusing my time and efforts on (1) playing with my family this summer, (2) starting my first garden, (3) cashing in on the deals I find.

I will still share deals on facebook when they have a share link, because I love to tell others about deals I find! So become my friend on facebook!
